Cronos: The New Dawn

Crazy the increase in fps for only a 3ms increase in latency, this is the way! #MFGON

Though good, this game and others like it don't really have a benefit in running at high framerates as the pacing of the game in third person is so slow anyway, motion smoothness appears just as smooth at a locked 60fps as it does at say 100fps or more I have found, though yeah that is with a controller.

Another win for my 5070Ti then :D

60 fps is definitely not smooth even in this game! time for specsavers :D Min of 80 for all games with ideally being at 150+ fps on a 240hz oled.

Cannot be bothered for NG+ but this was fun and something different to Dead Space. I got my money's worth I think and visually and audibly it was a stunning showcase with good performance for once from a UE5 game.

I tried the demo, not a fan of any close combat, its so sluggish, like deadspace in treacle.
I kinda like the setup though, might be a purchase down the line when it's cheaper.

It's very slow pace and can be frustrating if you don't like to die a lot.

But... It does make the game seem more tense and it has made me genuinely jump at least once so far.

This is one game that perfectly complements the use of FG.

I put everything on max settings at 4k DLSS performance and I thought the game was running good.

When I turned on the fps counter I could see that I was actually getting only 40fps.

I've turned on 2x FG and now it is 100fps.

For a game with such slow pace as this I think it is a perfect use case for the technology.

I've really enjoyed this game but...

The Pathfinder fight is driving me nuts! OK, it's a Skillz issue or Git Gud but after a really enjoyable playthrough it's mired what has otherwise been a great game. I get to phase 4 without taking damage. I go in with 2 Pyres, med and large health, plenty of handgun and shotgun ammo - I know they're not the best for this fight but they're what I have - and two Arbalest rounds. I use the Pyres in phase 3 to stop him doing the big blue ightning attack and shot gun him a bit. Phase 4 I start with the two rounds of Arbalest and from there I can barely touch him. He teleports as soon as I get LoS on him and he just slowly cuts me down. It's frustrating to the point of giving up! :(

Hmm just run around, open up the arena with the loop hole phase shifter thingy and grab the health and ammo packs.

It's just a case of running around so he can't hit you and getting shots in.

Maybe sell the aberlast shells and buy more health. That's what I did. I relied on the hand gun and the shotgun for the whole game.

(Occasionally I used the assault rifle when I was out of ammo during the game)

Can't remember if you really enjoyed this or not @opethdisciple . Do you recommend it for £20? How does it compare to some of the other games you have played the past 12 months?

Nexus and mrk seem to like it. Though the latter seemed to lack the skill required to play it as i recall :p
