My brother wants my comp so im looking at a new one. Looking at going for 2 4870s via crossfire, but looking at Mobo, most only seem to offer x8 PCIE in crossfire. The newer x38 boards offer x16PCiE in crossfire. Will this make much of a difference when it come to performance? The x38 boards (bar one) use ddr3 memory which is tad expensive for me...
Edit: Nevermind saw that it does in benchmark...
Altho how would 2 4850s fair against a 4870? better? and do you need to have 2 identical cards? I have heard that with crossfire you can run two different cards with different stats unlike SLI were they need to be the same.
