Crossfire 6950

give us screen shots of ur cpuz and we will soon be able to see if ur ram is clocking at correct speeds, cant see how underclocked ram would really cause artefacting in game though as ive had mine underclocked for a while mainly due to voltage issues and ive had 1 x driver crash in 6 months and im 100% sure that was over heating on the gfx cards rather then ramrelated. Also remember cpuz will only show half the true value you need to x by 2 to get the actual Mhz on both ddr2 and ddr3.

Hello Masterdeadley, if I remember from your previouse thread on your memory, your front side bus is slightly overclocked meaning the ram would be running higher, ie at 1648mhz.

Drop this back to 200mhz and set up the memory to 1600mhz.

If all else fails RMA to the manufacturer. I got a bad GTX480 from here (Gigabyte SoC) that wouldn't run at stock factory OC settings but ran fine at stock 480 speeds. Trying to return it to OCUK was like piddling in the wind. They just sent it back and charged me £20 odd for the privilege, on top of the £10 I spent returning it insured

Hi.

My multi-tasking skills fail me tonight.

Hopefully RJC's recommendation will sort out your RAM issues.

Does that leave you with your HD 6950 problem?

Waste of money.

Why buy another and add it to the one that may/not be faulty when you have enough troubles as it is, adding CrossFire to your list of woes is madness.

RJC I can't put my ram at 1600mhz there isn't a multipler to allow me to, can get 1100mhz, 1340mhz or 1648mhz. already RMA'd the card guys came back (not faulty)

Surveyor, Yes it will sort it if I knew how to do it :) and yes it does leave me with my HD 6950 problem.

i was having pretty much the same issues,

the spec i was running was

i5 sandybridge ( STOCK) 3.2
OCZ 1333 gold,

then upgraded to Corsair Vengance, and selected the XMP profile, and everything now works and treat, also got a helping hand to overclock my cpu to 4.5 and memory at 1600mhz. and now i never ever get blue screens :)

much love

You need to adjust the front side bus in order to get the ram to run at 1600mhz.

Your FSB is running 5mhz over at 205, drop this back to 200mhz and then adjust the memory multiplier.
