Hi all

I currently have a single sapphire 5770 1GB

I want to set up crossfire, but here is my question.
For some reason I think the memory is only used from the primary card so should I buy a 5770 512mb version for the second graphics card?

Thanks

Shane

If you buy a 512mb card and combine it with a 1GB card your games will use the card with the least memory so that would be 512mb, best go 1GB then.

Ah I see, I knew it didn't use both cards memory just didn't realise it worked like that.

Thanks for the advice

Shane

The data is the same on each cards memory. The memory of one card has to be a mirror of the other card for them to work together.

That makes sense, couldn't have one card reading from the others memory that would be slower I suppose. Glad I asked now, I have never ventured into multi gpu's yet but soon enough :D
