Crossfire + Freesync = stutter?

Hello, i was reading earlier about some guy testing input lag and he found vsync doubles it from roughly 60 ms to 120 ms, that sounded like a lot to me so i turned off vsync and gave GTA a blast and it feels a lot more responsive, ive been playing WoW for 10 years so had no need for fast reactions but im starting to get back into a few FPS games a little with some friends, so i think turning off vsync will help me out.

Atm im using vsync to stop tearing and an fps cap to stop micro stutter, i know freesync will stop the tearing but will it also stop the stutter?

What screen are you using mate? Specifically the resolution I am after...

I'm using an Asus 1440p ips atm, I guess I would look for the Rog freesync version if someone can confirm free sync removes micro stutter.

Right up to your screen resolution so long as the game uses DX 10 or higher frame pacing will work, coupled with free-sync. The microstutter should be gone, or mitigated so not highly noticeable. It does for me with with my Benq 1440 freesync monitor using freesync crossfire. As for input lag keep The v-sync off, you can still have the benefit of free-sync up to within its range. And TBH, I had it not for the tearing that can happen. More so to smooth out the feeling I get, when the game drops from 100+fps into the 70's. And in Dirty Bomb that happened quite often untill the recent patch, and a tweaked config.

Yeah, well i FPS cap to 59 and that smooths out everything anyway, i dont get any stutter atm, but i was a bit worried about buying a freesync monitor and getting stuttering. Im glad to hear freesync sorts it.

Anyway its all irrelevant now as i didnt get payed this week, so i probably wont have any spare money till next year so ill hang on till then i guess.
