I have 5870s in crossfire and recently download msi afterburner, after gaming i checked gpu usage which on crysis warhead was only around 40% to 50% on each card and Left 4 dead 2 it was around 35% each card.

Is this normal or is it a settings thing that can be changed

cheers

Crysis Warhead still only uses two CPU cores and not optimised for quad, so I don't think your would be able to get more GPU usage out of them, unless you change to something that run faster in two threads, such as Sandybridge.

Also, overclocking your existing CPU WILL give increase GPU usage and increase frame rate as well.

While the Q6600 is still a good CPU - you need more than 3.2gig on it to get the most out of 5870 crossfire - thats about good enough to push 1x 5870 effectively but not 2.

That said you should see good GPU useage in Crysis as its not particularly CPU bound, but left 4 dead based on the source engine is quite heavily CPU bound.

I have just got the 2nd 5870 last week or so and was intending to upgrade to sandybridge once the motherboard issue was resolved with sata, And this was the other main reason that i was sure i read that a new roll out on intel was due soon and would maybe push prices down on sandybridge,so I was going to wait until around june/july to upgrade

The links do show a good differance in the FPS,looks like an upgrade is in the pipeline
