Hi all,

This year I built my first major computer since I had an old 1.4 thunderbird 1gig ram and geforce 4 gfx card. I decided to make a crossfire pc, spec are as follows

Coolermaster SM stacker case (with crossflow fan)
750w Silverstone Zeus psu
DFI RDX 200 CF-DR
2GIG OCZ RAM
My old IDE 120GIG HDD
Audity 2 ZS
ATI x1900
ATI x1900 CF
Winxp home edition
And Dell 24” jobbie

Ever since my build I’ve been unhappy I’ve had graphics issues with Gmod , it gets laggy playing hitman blood money & ive just played Splinter cell Double Agent demo and its graphics are again odd. I don’t know if it’s my gfx cards or just v bad drivers. Anyone have any tests or guidance of elimination on what could be causing such a minor thing that’s driving me nuts. Also say im watching a music video sometimes the movie has multicoloured blocks over the movie I have to either reboot or disable crossfire to its all clear as it should be.

I really think its the motherboard DFI seemed good at the time but, also i have trouble rebooting and ive had to set my CAS Latencey to 2.5 to acctaully get into windows as when i first installed XP it crashed on install. Its never been smoothe.

Hi m8

I have this issue when I attempt to play videos on my x1900 CF setup using cats 6.10. I have looked around at the problem and it appears to be related to non standard resolutions on the screen. Mine was set to 1280x1024 (use the catalst control panel to check the interlacing settings) and I got a lot of chess board checks on the screen when either playing a video or a game. I then reset the desktop resolution to 1280x960 and the interlacing issue has mainly gone away (but not entirely). Maybe it is a CF issue or an issue with the cards. I have a Core 2 at stock speeds with 2 GB RAM.

My desktop resolution is set to 1900x1200 , and i use ingame 1200X1024.
