Hi just built a new system consisting of:

Intel 5820K 3.30GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor
Gigabyte X99M-Gaming 5 Intel X99 (Socket 2011) DDR4 Micro ATX Motherboard
2 x MSI Radeon R9 290X LE Gaming Edition
SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply

Done a fresh install of Windows 7 pro 64bit installed all drivers, nothing is overclocked, however in the Catalyst control center under gaming there is no mention of crossfire or another card.

I swapped the cards over to verify the other card is working, I have flashed the BIOS on the motherboard to the latest, uninstalled and resinstalled drivers, installed the latest beta drivers but still nothing, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I would try and reseat both cards, ensure all power cables are connected properly and check device manager to see if you can see both cards.

Can you take a look at this thread and follow the guide to setup and install afterburner, disable ULPS then see if your problems are resolved.

there are 3 pcie slots on this board, had the cards in slot 1 and 3, now have them in slots 1 and 2 cards are practically touching!

I honest thought the other card would show up, surely two pcie slots cant be not working (well very unlikely) still only 1 card in device manager, will follow your advice and report back Matt.

Thanks everyone for the help

hace tried each card and they both work

Did you get any errors after installing the drivers or did it say all was installed successfully?

Hope you get it sorted mate as those are a couple of great cards you have got!:)

Ok I really need to learn to read manuals (never been one for it) you HAVE to use slots 1 and 2 (cards are practically touching )

Anyway tried again in slots 1 and 2 making sure everything was seated and plugged in correctlt, when it booted into windows the screen went black a few times then a message popped up asking if I wanted to enable crossfire :D

Tried farcry and works flawlessly, thanks so much guys :)

No doubt I will be back to ask more questions
