Mobo - Asus P7P55D Deluxe
GPU - 2 x Asus EAH6850

Ive recently update the Bios on my mobo & noticed the following in the Catalyst Control Centre :-

card1.jpg

card2.jpg

The cards are plugged into the x16 PCIe slots so am I missing something here? Shouldnt both card's "maximum bus setting" be x16?

I cant see any setting to ramp the PCIe setting up to x16 in the bios... is it showing x8 because its PCI Express 2? or is that me talking crap? ;)

Cheers in advance

it must be x16 in single card mode and 2 x x8 in dual card...dont worry dual x8's are only about 2% slower than dual x16...you would never notice the difference

Yep, with 2 cards running this will drop to 8x, like Cammy5477 mentions there will be minimal performance loss.

Just a thought... I have a creative PCIe sound card in one of my slots .... could this be having a negative effect on my x8/x16?

I also have a motherboard that's only duel X8 PCI-E, It's reassuring to know.. I actually thought I'd have to buy a 16X/16X Mobo. Thanks for info.

Ignore that, it's stupid  Upon finding the motherboard user guide it is indeed x8 in Crossfire & Sli.

Cheers people for the help.
