Hey guys, I'm about to crossfire for the first time, I'm just wondering when crossfiring do you need the "exact" same card or would it actually be possible to crossfire an ATI Radeon 4870X2
with a ATI Radeon 4870? Also if it does need to be the same would there be a huge improvement? As currently looking to play games such a Crysis, Fallout 3 on the highest of settings and such.

Aha i see, Would i gain more from getting an X2 or just the same card? Cause of the power difference in the X2 and the plain 4870?

seems crysis doesnt like crossfire or SLI too much.

However if you already have a 4870 i would get another to crossfire with as its the best performance to money, it should munch through crysis and fallout 3. Or if you have the 4870X2 already just stick with it for now and maybe look into a physx card for crysis and other physx related games.

Well currently im using just the 4870 HD Sapphire 512 on it's own, It's nice but it doesn't really offer me enough to playfallout 3 and farcry and so on with ultra graphics DX10 seems to hate certain parts of several games, So would it be worth getting another Sapphire 4870 512?
