Unless I enable v-sync in games , when I have crossfire enabled I'm getting screen flickering, like faint lines going down the screen , really noticeable in dark areas , anyone got any idea how to solve the issue without enabling vsync or disabling xfire ??

Sounds like screen tearing. Vsync is the only solution at present.

You could try limiting the FPS to the refresh rate of your monitor, with vsync disabled. You can do this via an external program such as radeonpro or afterburner. Tearing will still occur, but it should make it much less noticeable.

Yeah I get that too mate, not noticeable on all games. Had it with every crossfire setup from my old 4870X2 back in the day, to my shiny new 280X's!

Cheers , i tried the locking of fps to 60 in bf4, the lines went but I got really bad tearing for some reason ! Its not that bad , I just find myself lookin for it all the time as it annoys me :( .. Tried loads of different stuff aswell like forcing vsync on in ccc but it hasn't worked !

Good programs for forcing vsync, if the in-game vsync isn't playing ball - D3DOverrider or Radeonpro!

Either will do the trick! Tbh, Radeonpro is an essential app for any AMD owner in my experience. In fact, it is such a good program I am keeping it installed to run sweetfx in my nvidia cards!

You got a link to Radeonpro will definitely check that out :) cheers !

I enable v sync on single player games Matt , but I play a few competitive multiplayer games, so I need to have it off in game as I don't want any form of input lag :) ..

Try using vsync but using afterburner to set an fps limit of 59. I find this removes most (but not all) of the input lag.

That's a good idea cheers , how do I set fps limits in afterburner ? Cs go isn't so bad as I can disable crossfire and it goes , but I'd rather not do that as when I enable it again gotta disable ups and stuff in afterburner

Will try that and the Radeon pro thanks ! Do I have to do this for very game and do I enable v sync in game ? Also if I have v sync enabled , do you have that OpenGL on in ccc ??

If you use the Global option above then it applies the fps limit for every game rather than on a per added application basis.

You can use Radeonpro to disable CF for a certain game. Means you aren't disabling afterburner at driver level, but does the same job.

As I said, great program for AMD users.

Ah cheers you two really appreciate the help will try both when I'm next on computer , will probably be back in a day or 2 haha ... With the Radeon pro , can I still use afterburner ? And ccc which is always on anyway ? Or have I got to close them ?

Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. Depends on the game. Be aware that sometimes they don't play nice together.

I take it if they don't play nice together I'll notice ? Which should I close first , afterburner or ccc ?

Whichever one doesn't do what you need it to do. :p

You'll likely get a black screen and the game refuses to load if it does not like having them both running at the same time.
