So me and a bunch of friends have decided we want to go across to devon and camp in the croyde bay area. We've got tents and such sorted but i'm wondering if anyone has been there or knows about the area?

Most of us will be there for 3 days/2 nights, and during the day i'm gonna want something to do. Is there anything to see/do/check out? Any places i definately shouldn't miss out on? Or even do any OCUKers live there ^^?

Croyde bay is lovely, i used to live just down the road from it and used to go up there most weekends

tbh there isn't a great deal to do if your not into your surfing but its still a lovely place to just wander round and chill on the beach

Yep, it's a nice little place. Regarding things to do, best bet is probably Barnstaple. It's a pretty decent night out, but for reasons unknown to man, I prefer Bideford for going out ;)

Go-karting's always a good laugh, that's on the road from Barnstaple on the way to Croyde. Last time I went it was £10 for 12 minutes. They've only a top speed of 45, but it's a good laugh with a bunch of friends.

if they are in croyde, woolocombe would be there best night out ;)

isnt cascades in croyde? loved that place as a kid lol. but there isnt much to do in devon at all :) lol

Meh. Never been to Woolacombe. As mentioned, there's not a whole lot to do tbh.

Barnstaple aint a bad place, my lady was at Croyde yesterday surfing, flat as a pancake. Weather is poo down there too at the mo. Check out www.a1surf.co.uk and check out the webcam :) its just a long sandy beach full of either locals or wanabee London surfers who think that if you can ride the central lane they can surf with their gucci boards.

Talking of londoners i might get a t-shirt made up saying

"I'm not a Grockle! I Live here!!"

this time of the year sucks around here :(

1) Don't get drunk and in Woolacombe and fall off the wall around the beach, it hurts apparently, I know that laughing at my mates when they did so caused considerable pain :)

2) The Thatch in Croyde is usually fun or it certainly used to be, so long as you don't stay still for too long and get stuck to the floor.

3) Surfing is the way to go, don't be doing none of that shark biscuit stuff ;)
