Hi, I have an LG F700p flatron CRT monitor.

In the last couple of weeks it's started clicking from inside every now and again.

A friend of mine has suggested it could be the monitors PSU failing and it could go pop tonight, or last another 10 years! Does this sound feasable?

It's still inside it's 3 year guarantee so I'm considering getting it swapped out to be on the safe side.

kind of yeah. it's like a little crack or click noise. sometimes 2 or 3 right quick.

That sounds like EHT (Extra High Tension) arcing.

Basically your hearing an arc of electricity jump to an earth point.

Can be caused by many things in CRT displays:

A really bad dry joint.
Isolation breaking down on the Line Output Transformer.
Dust around EHT cap on back of tube.

And more besides.

(I was a TV and Video engineer in a past life)

If it's under warranty get it swapped out asap basically as it will only get worse and eventually go bang or just "not work".
