I do before I print to check colours because my CRT is better calibrated with the printer than my LCD.

I was under the opinon they are unless we are talking big money for a lcd, the reason i ask is a View Sonic P227f professional series has come into my possession and wondering what to use it for.

I tinker in a little printing and find my lcd rather rubbish on the colours e.t.c.

Must say thou my lcd is of the cheap and cheer full kind.

have to say i still use one... .[untill they bring a decent lcd out for gaming].. . bought an lcd a year ago after my old crt died.. . and i hated it with a passion.. .so returned it and bought another crt

If you have professional quality CRT it will be better than the average sub £200 TFT. If not it will probably be worse, especially if it's pretty old, as they tend to deteriorate.
