I wanted to install windows 7 64bit to ssd and have 2-3 sata drives as storage
The ssd is not recognised, after much forum searching i decided to install windows 7 to a sata drive but still ssd is not recognised.
The ssd is not faulty as i connected it to another system and was recognised instantly.
So question is what am i missing? OcUk suggested to rma it on the grounds it might be incompatable but i have a feeling its something simple i have missed.
Any and all input is welcome, if i do get it working is there a way i can clone my windows 7 installation from the sata to the ssd drive as i have some work units i do not want to loose?
Thanks in advance:)

Try a different sata cable and port on the mobo.

Update the motherboard bios.

Put the drive back into the pc it works in and update the firmware.

I've just put the exact same kit into a Fractal Design case and haven't had the issue you've had. The SSD was recognised and I was installed (win764) and at desktop within 40 mins. You sure you've installed all the mobo drivers ?

Failing that I'd RMA it if OCUK have said to do so. Good luck !

Thanks phartars glad yours went ok....bearing in mind i am not 100% pc savvy how can i double check all the mobo drivers are installed....i really want this to work and appreciate the time you took to reply

Just noticed I have OCZ ram not Corsair.

OCUK's analysis of incompatibility may be right and the offer of an RMA may be your only option to check.

Sounds like a fair assumption the SSD works in another system/is known to be working.

Can you try the system with one stick of non Corsair RAM ?

Thanks for that, i will try that in the morning...am just trying to digest the facts figures and pricing on these fermi cards - not into full time gaming as such i crunch for seti and trying to work out the potential performance increase...decisions decisions lol
Will post back by noon and thanks again for your input!

Big thanks to TheBug and phartars for your input, i started at 10am this morning and finally it works, as near as i can make it out the top hot swap bay in my obsidian 800 case is faulty .... it now works a treat thank you guys.....think i would have given up by now without a little support!!
