Interesting times ahead looks like Crucial are bringing there own version of OCZ Synapse

Crucial Adrenaline Cache Solution Boosts Performance of Existing Hard Drives to Enhance Overall PC Performance

New Solid State Cache Solution Combines Cost-Effective, High-Performance SSD with an Existing High-Capacity Hard Drive for Dramatic PC Performance Gains

Key Messages:

Combines a cost-effective, high-performance SSD with an existing hard drive to enable the best of both worlds: SSD-like performance with the high storage capacity of a hard drive.

Comprises a 50GB Crucial® m4 SSD, a 3.5" adapter bracket, and caching software.

Simple, two-step installation includes connecting the SSD to the motherboard with a standard SATA cable followed by installation of the software.

OCZ's 64GB Synapse SSD gives you 32GB of cache, the other 28GB / 32GB is used for overprovisioning, improving the life of the SSD.

The Crucial Adrenaline is their standard 64GB model restricted down to 50GB, so it sports 'only' 14GB of overprovisioning.

I expect the Synapse' performance to be much better than the Adrenaline's given the models of card they are based on.
