Just checked around in bios on my gigabyte mobo and in "pc health status" the ddr voltage line is saying FAIL. Just wondering what this means?

The RAM is pc8500 and the pc feels quite sluggish compared to the 4gig of ocz pc5400 i had in it before.

I was going to check the ram with memtest but it requires a floopy disk and i dont have a floppy drive. Are there any progs to check memory with a cd/dvd/in windows?

Cheers.

You can put memtest on a bootable CD and it will run just the same as long as the optical drive is the first boot device.

Ignore the FAIL warning. It's there to scare n00bs. Be sure to set the memory to 2.2v (+0.4) and it'll be grand.

And the sluggish feeling probably has more to do with dropping from 4gb to 2gb.

Yeah I put in my friend's 2gb ballistix in my puter the other day for a total of 4gb and wow it made quite a difference.

Whoever says 4gb is overkill doesn't know what they are talking about.
