I've ordered a single M225 64gb ssd and have been pondering over whether to setup 2 or maybe 3 in raid 0.

I've seen one guys bench results of 2x 64gb in raid0 resulting in roughly 400MB/sec reads and 200MB/sec writes in crystaldisk which are impressive on paper.

Now what i want to know is would a SSD Raid0 setup result in quicker REAL world performance in a gaming and media system over a typical single drive setup?

Pc used mainly for 1080p movie playback, pc games with graphics settings maxxed out, unzipping/unraring large files and general windows usage.

Also anyone with 3x ssd in raid 0 please post benchmarks.

I'm not really bothered about the TRIM issue right now as i know the firmware for crucials has been released and whether or not it works for RAID right now its so early, I'm sure it will all be sorted by the time my disk/disks arrive.:D

Games will load a little faster, and unraring big files should be faster.

You won't get trim support ever because even though bios on the SSD's will support it i would'nt get your hopes up of a cheapo RAID controller on a MoBo ever supporting it.

go for it, It certainly won't be as noticable as going from Mechanical -> single SSD, but it will make a difference in some situations and it costs pretty much the same to get two 64GB as it does to get a single 128GB, so it's almost a free performance bonus.
