Crucial M4 issue

Hi not sure if this in right place or not but here goes

I have a crucial M4 128gb and when i boot up computer is doesn't show in bios some times, it could take 4-5 times to show in bios, just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems with there M4s

I have same ssd.
Have you looked at the crucial forums on the matter?

Have you tried changing your data or power cables as it could be that causing issue?

Have you been fooling about with the pc bios in any way?

Have you checked in your bios to see that the motherboard settings are correct?

Just a few off top of my head at this time of the day ;-)

Update the firmware if you have not done so since purchase.

Depending on how long ago you got the ssd they had an issue way back where the drive would trigger SMART after 5000 hours or so.

yes, I was also having problems with mine.
updated the firmware when I read this post and its ok now

Wish I realised that before I bought a new ssd lol

It's common for most SSD's to have wacky firmware bugs.

One of the recent firmwares made the drive disappear from time to time when booting, it would come back on its own after a few minutes and a reboot and was a seperate issue to the "5000 hours SMART" bug.
