About to buy this, but SSD's not being something i am hugely clued up on, just wanted to make sure it was the best SSD atm in the 120GB size?

Or if there is anything bad about it i should know

Snap, just looking at this as well and it'll be my first SSD as well.

From all that I've read the M4 (with the new 009 firmware) seems to be about the best deal at the moment, and OCUK have them on offer this week too :)
 
I don't think it's the fastest but it's certainly close and since ocuk have them as a deal this week I would definitely go for it :D.
Just remember to enable AHCI in your bios before you install and also leave your old drive with windows connected after installing your new drive so you can update its firmware without any issues.

Then your going to need a 6GB/s cable for the new drive and the newst rst drivers from intel. Depending on your ram and use you could disable the pagefile, turn off hiberation and turn off indexing to save space and keep the speed up.
 
Ive just got one, only running sata 2 tho, figured why pay same/similar for a sata2 drive.

Coming from raid F3s i can tell the difference but not as much as people were screaming about.

Right choice going for M4 tho imho, didnt fancy the horror stories with sandforce drives.

Thst'll be because you're on Sata 2.
 
The cables are the same, it depends on your motherboard. Sadly the X58 board you have does not have any native SATA 3 ports, so you'll be limited to SATA 2 speeds. However you still should be able to see a significant performance boost from the SSD on your current setup :).
 
As said sadly they're Marvell controlled ports, not native Intel ports. And the speeds they give are rubbish, sometimes it's a little better than SATA 2, sometimes even worse!
