Hi,

I bought a Crucial M4 Harddrive to fit in my Bitfenix Merc Beta case but the HD did not come with the brackets so i can fit it. Where can I get these from? Do i also need to buy a sata cable or should this already be with my motherboard?

Thanks!

You should already have the SATA cables with your motherboard, but you can buy them separately. Be sure to get SATA3 cables if your motherboard supports that SATA3 (post your mobo model number and we can check for you) otherwise just any old SATA2 cable will cover it.

SSDs are small and light (their form factor is 2.5" like laptop drives), if you don't have anywhere to screw it in then it's perfectly OK to let it sit loose at the bottom of your case. I recommend getting some sticky back velcro so that you can stick it anywhere your like in your case (such as hidden on the back of your motherboard tray) which benefits airflow for cooling.

Alternatively, this would allow you to fit it in the case like a normal HDD:

(Also, any SATA cable will work fine, just that SATAIII ones will have been tested at SATAIII speeds - as above you will get SATA cables with the motherboard)

Not in my P182 it didn't! I ended up threading string through the holes in the adapter & then tying it to the hard drive cage. Double sided tape does seem to be the most popular way of mounting it
