Crucial MX500 as sata SSD or M.2

Any reason to pick one over the other as they're the same price (both are 500gb.)
Am thinking M.2 as it just has to be clipped in to the mobo and don't have to move around cables etc.

I think the M.2 SATA version of the 2.5 SATA are mainly just designed as space savers, unlike the nvme M.2 of course.

I don't think you'd see any difference as they're both SATA but it would save a couple of cables.
 
I agree, would only mean less cables, tbh you wouldn't notice any difference in the 2 drives speed wise in normal use anyway.

Make sure you update your motherboard BIOS before installing the M.2 if you go for it.
 
Sound fine to me! Wasn't expecting better performance but can leave my old smaller SSD where it is.
