Hi All
I bought a Crucial CT64GBFAA0 a few months ago and it has started to slow up. I read through some of the posts on this forum and it advises updating the firmware, so i went to the Crucial website and the only drive on the firmware updates is the CT64M225

My question is are these the same drives & is the firmware compatable?

Thanks

Renton

The Crucial CT64GBFAA0 is an old Generation 1 SSD ( i hope you got this 1 cheap!) from around 2008 I believe that does not have TRIM and possible no Garbage Collection which would explain why your drive is slowing down noticeable. Since no firmware exists that adds TRIM for the drive (or any other G1 SSD I think) and it seems Crucial has not implemented GC collection in a firmware update, i can only think of using "Tony Trim" which should help speed the drive up on any Generation 1 SSD without TRIM/GC Support.

Read about it.
