CryEngine 3 Preview (360/PS3 comparison)

How can they compare cryengine 2 pc to the cry engine 3 console... of course the console version is going to have lower texture res, view distance etc. 
Impressive looking though for the consoles. Will be interesting to see cry engine 2 compared to 3 on pc and then the two consoles compared.

wow damn didnt think console could come up with awesome graphics but they would never beat the pc graphics just aint ever gonna happen 
Take Cryteks 'real time' videos with a pinch of salt, they released the infamous "Jungle Fight" video for the PC version of Crysis and the final product looked nothing like it.
Let's not forget the Dx9 vs 10 videos that looked vastly different from each other but in the final game, again, the differences just weren't there.

How come the 360 version is slightly zoomed in? It has made the vegetation look blurry and less defined compared to the PS3 version. Thats why i dont like these head to head screen shot things as unless they are the exact same shot at the same time then its misleading.
Doesn't look zoomed to me, the pics just seem to be in slightly different places. Theres a part of me that things motion blur might be cocking up the 360 pic.
Hi there, you seem to have stumbled into the wrong gaming section. I suggest you go to the PC section and it's probably beneficial for everyone if you just stay there as opposed to attempting to flame bait over here.
Agreed, up until release Crysis was just smoke and mirrors. It's the prettiest game in existence, but it's nowhere near as pretty and doesn't run any where near as well as it was touted as before release.
They appear to be screenshots of a video. By that I mean print screen of a video playing as you can see the ad button.
Also there is no doubt about it that the 360 version isn't taken in the same place. You can see this by the rock position.
Again I will say that it looks like a lot of movement is going on in the 360 version. I can't believe that it's not as sharp as the PS3. I would happily except the fact that the PS3 version could be/is better but the 360 screenshot just isn't right.

I agree with the above, im sure that if the Xbox version wasn't zoomed in they would look equal.

It's a game that should have stayed on PC. Looking at those screenshots then looking at the PC version is kinda sad 
In no way is this meant to be a console bashing post. It's just that this was a game about the latest tech, showing off. I just don't see the point of it on the consoles.

like it matters, its on consoles with very outdated gfx's, will still pale in comparison to the mighty pc!!!!
