CryEngine 4 Demo

The facial animation is messed up, it reminds me of the rubbish from L.A. Noire, who in the world makes facial expressions like that when doing stuff? O_o

Graphically it looks great though, but that's to be expected from Crytek.

See some very nice games coming from that.

The deep textures are great so deep and the color it all stands out just perfect.

Yes that is a very nice video.

However, I would assume their engine was half as good as their videos make out more devs would actually use it. Seeing CryEngine these days just just makes me think style over substance.

I'm sure it's a great technical achievement but what has that achievement really transferred to in the real world? A few pretty but really rather bland shooters.

These engines are just wondrous pieces of software. Cryengine, Frosbite, Unreal Tech 4, Snowdrop. The real time quality is astounding.

I think CryEngine 3 is the most impressive of all the major engines out there right now in my opinion; it really is the complete package. Playing through Crysis 3 had me gawking at the screen the whole time, it was just a visually wonderous experience. The amount of detail and more importantly, 'dynamic' detail is just incredible. One of the few games that actually makes me appreciate just how powerful a modern desktop GPU really is.

Now I just want STALKER remastered on Cryengine 3.

That's not the engine's fault, but rather the people who work with it. Deus Ex, Stalker, Fear or other great games that require beautiful graphics in order to truly shine, would be just awesome on this technology. :)

Crytek are good technically but visually it looks plastic as far.
for my eye the games I played with crytek, havent looked right yet.

Frostbite engine however is done much better there.

I would sell my firstborn for a PC to run that maxed out...

Very cool.

I prefer the Crytek engine to the Frostbite and Unreal Engine I think. I always find the Unreal engine looks very plastic while the Crytek engine manager to avoid this to some extent.

New Crytek CryENGINE Technology Video

Crytek has released a new video clip that shows some new features of its next-generation CryENGINE.
CRYENGINE will be the first PlayStation4, PlayStation3, Xbox One, Xbox 360,
Wii U and PC all-in-one game development solution with scalable computation and graphics technologies.
By using CRYENGINE, developers can ensure they always stay ahead of the game -- no matter what lies around the corner.
