Crysis 2 announced for PS3/360

Heres hoping the PC version doesn't get cut back. I wonder what Crysis 2 will look like on the consoles?

Today EA and Crytek announced Crysis 2 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The next instalment of Crysis will be the first game built on Crytek's CryENGINE 3 and will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. EA will publish the game.

"The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio," said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek.

"This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it's the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3. We are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as we work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event."

Doesn't the actual game of Crysis kinda suck though? And the best thing about it is the graphics, if so, who cares that it is coming to consoles? I doubt it would be the best looking game on either PS3 or xbox.

The only thing wrong with Crysis was the AI and and the hit detection. The weapons and power suit were all awesome. Warhead improved on the weak points of the first one but was still kinda dull in terms of combat with the enemy.

Still a fun game.

Average shooter in my opinion, I've played Crysis and Warhead and can't say I thought either were great games deserving of the hype they get.

Then again I thought the same thing about Far Cry too.

Will be interesting to see what this looks like on the consoles.

Meh, Crysis was crap. Even looked like FarCry in places. The only good bit was watching that mountain crumble down.

Let us hope it's not as bland as Far Cry 2. Easily my most disappointing title of 2008.

It's supposed to look the same as the PC version running medium-high settings.

Screen shots you can sit and study and pick out every little flaw. But in action it might look quite nice.

I remember the first screenshot that leaked of KZ2 people said it didn't look good as they sat and picked every flaw, but the game turned out to be (IMHO) the best looking game so far of this generation.

well i look forward to seeing that on my xbox 360

i enjoyed crysis warhead too, played it through afew times now so hopefully they can pull off something good with crysis 2.

The problem, as people have already pointed out, is that Crysis wasn't noticable because of its gameplay mechanics but because it was just so damn pretty. Remove that and you have a pretty mediocre FPS unfortunately
