Crysis 2

disappointed this leaked but i dont think it will affect sales too much imo

not like its the final version and the pirates would have pirated the final version in march anyway
 
Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Oh yeah blame it on the pirates of course, from what ive been reading the leak is an actual internal build watermarked not for distrubition. So its either come from inside ea or crytek. But lets of course ignore our crap security and jump right back onto the herp derp pc piracy bandwagon. :rolleyes:

The amusing thig is this leak could actualy be a big advert for the game, if it runs well and its a beta then the final version could run even better with different dx modes available. The biggest criticism of crysis was its performance, this by all accounts looks and runs much better. Word of mouth will have a large say in this games success and its possible the leak could end up being a good thing.
 
Just a heads up for anyone considering the download, it's INCREDIBLY buggy, has lot's of scripts/AI/animations missing, the sound glitches regularly and it's unstable. It's FAR from a complete build and to be quite honest you will ruin the game for yourself if you are even slightly interested in it for anything more than eye-candy.

I didn't download the game myself, i just spent the last couple of hours watching someone stream it (won't link in case mods are not happy).

Early indications of performance are pretty good though, the guy was running a [email protected] with a GTX260 and was getting mostly 50-60fps on 'advanced' (highest of 3 options) DX9. No doubt the final version will offer many options to kill your pc in DX11 mode, but for now there is some hope at least.

Crytec EA whoever have only got themselves to blame
Most anticipated game of the year leaked 5-6 weeks early, something needs to be looked onto with regard to security on their part.

Personally I think it's been leaked on purpose
It's not asif it's pirated / cracked, this is the real deal from the source no need to crack it. Stupid stupid careless developers

People who work in the industry are considered expendable and work some pretty shocking hours.

As pointed out elsewhere, there are easier ways to give out a preview of your game rather than releasing a buggy version that could damage it's image and sales figures, along with the master multiplayer key.
