All looks well and good but I remember the CryEngine 2 tech demo from years ago. Then when Crysis 1 came out the graphics didnt look as good as in the tech demo, even in dx10 mode.

This is my thought exactly, I'll just wait and see.

Tech demo is just what it CAN do, and it probably had a team of guys working weeks on this one frog

Not exactly.

It's no secret they specifically put Crysis 3 in the title AND the Cryengine tech to use it as a marketing tool. Not to mention, a few of these scenes are in the actual standalone game trailer.
We can both read into it as much or little as we want :p

Britney spears looks a lot nicer in magazines than in the flesh

Filmed on PC using QUAD SLI... cannot wait for the jagged, 720p console version

It's designed for next gen consoles as well as current gen. PC gaming is about to get a whole lot prettier as devs race to be the show piece game of each console.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking.

Where's the incentive to make the PC version look great, when most of their sales will be from the consoles. And there's no way the console versions will be looking like that tech demo.

Agree, although console players will definitely have an appreciation for the true capabilities of CE3 engine utilised in this game when it comes to PC (after having seen the trailer). So atleast they won't be playing this game in total ignorance of all the technical capabilities this game has to offer, if they moved to PC :)

The engine looks amazing. :)

How though, Valve fanboys argue the Source engine is more impressive than this I have no idea...

Not sure what you are going on about. Who would say the Source engine looks better than this?

Now the Source engine is still competative, gameplay wise as it is still a pretty good engine, able to run on most modern hardware and some older hardware as well without any issues, but visually it can't compare.

Looks pretty good! Not quite photo realistic, but another step in the right direction to push PC hardware to their limits. The recommended spec to run this game isn't that high either really so not sure if that means it's decently optimized or what...

The engine is wonderful, but arguably the game and only game that seems to run it sucks.

As far i see it, it is really only a "look how shiny and crisp that texture is up close" game, which is the only reason that people post screenshots about it, whereas with other games its usually about something that happens in the game.

Dull really, brings the engines reputation down for it, it really needs far more games on it, that don't look like vapourware either.

maybe that GHOST SNIPER 2 will be ok this time around, because it does look bloody good for sure and it's the same engine.

looking at it again, it does look brilliant, but the lighting effects looks too much to me, too much mist/ lens flare etc, plus this will have to one hell of a long way into the future for that much vegetation in NY, it looks like 40 years further on than Crysis 2.

This 3rd game should have been the 2nd

Watching it again, I much prefer the outdoor environments to the indoor ones. For me they just seem that much more realistic.
