crysis 4

Meh not too excited. The team that did the original games are not the same team at Crytek now. Remember Crytek didn't pay the original devs for ages (months?) and many of them left in anger.

Doubt I will buy this however it turns out to be.

This is the stance I'm taking with a lot of games now. I'll wait and see the reviews, wont pre-order unless it's an exceptional single player game. Wait and see if there is a backlash after the honeymoon is over before deciding.

So far at least I've passed on flops such as Outriders, New World, Battlefield 2042 and not sure what else was on the list.

Gaming publishers and so many studios seems to be in a race who can outdo each other for the worst outcome.

I just installed Crysis Warhead this morning before work to give it a quick go as forgot what it was like.

Pretty awful. And this was supposed to be the revised Cry Engine? I was getting over 130fps in the "Enthusiast" settings at 3440x1440 but even still the motion of the camera was jerky as if frames were dropping left and right. This game was hailed as a hog for single threaded CPU power but I have an i7 12700KFwhich has more single threaded power than even a 5950X and CPU utilisation was around 12%

Also the graphics look lacking compared to what we've all been spoiled with in recent games especially with how lighting behaves even outside of RT, like very convincing normal SSR/GI.

I still stand by my previous thoughts, that I am not really getting into the hype of a new Crytek game as they have a lot of strong competition now like UE5 titles that look and run so smooth without needing insane GPU power etc.

I bet people can't wait to join an online queueing system for 6 months to purchase an £8000 GPU to run this :D Maybe a 6090Ti by the time its released

That said, it'll no doubt release for PS4 and other consoles so look about as good as Cyberpunk did on consoles from 2013. Maybe it'll be a PS6 exclusive

You'll probably need dual 4090 Ti with 128Gb DDR6 16000Mhz ram and a 128 core processor at 6Ghz to run this smoothly at 4k 240Hz with a PCI-E 6 GEN 6 50Gb/s Nvme and 500Gb free storage
At least ive got the 500GB Nvme free storage

I really hope this is the new Crysis of 2007. That game was years ahead of it's time. Even 4 or 5 years later it held up very well

Unfortunately it will be made for consoles too, so will look like every other game

I find it so hard that they could even beat the likes of God of War graphics for this release.

I'd say is more about what they're "allowed" to do than what the team is capable of. 2nd and 3rd installment weren't the same as the original.

The 3rd was actually not bad. There were a lot of fun battles with the bow but in ways it felt like a Hunger Games game.

I hope this will be as ground breaking as the first I hope it is.even without cevat there now I would love this to be cryteks big game like the first was in 2007.
hmm maybe it will be...

"While there is not much information on Crysis 4 right now, however, the developer does confirm that the FPS will be “a truly next-gen shooter.” This statement, along with the fact that Crysis 4 probably won’t release for a couple of years, suggests a last-gen release is very unlikely"

If the developers are advertising this as 'truly next-gen', then how long until the PS6 is released? That should give a rough estimate of when this is planned for release.
