Crysis 64bit mode

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64bit. How do i get Crysis 64bit mode working? I launch the exe and it crashes at a black screen.

I have an 8800GT graphics card with latest drivers

Not sure but does it actually make a difference to the game?

It doesn't make a difference really. Just use the 32 bit exe

Have you patched it?

Are you trying to use a No DVD .exe?

Edit: To give a better answer. On my system the game works fine in 64-bit mode as long as I have the original disc in the tray. If I try to use a No DVD crack then I get the black screen and it crashes.

This seems to be happening because something is stopping the program from being the active window even though it's still taking up the full screen. A workaround is having task manager opened when launching the game and then quickly switching back to it from task manager when the black screen comes up.

Other people say that starting a game in 32 bit mode and making a save file lets it launch in 64 bit from then on but that didn't work for me.

I heard the 64 bit version runs worse than the 32 bit version but I'm not sure if it's true.

yes, to 1.2
yes, dvd is at home. I just have a file with all my legit keys and install from ISO

Ill try the taskmanager workaround. Does 64bit mode add anything new?

Not sure if that's the case as I've not played very far into the game. I'll get to it once I've finished Bioshock.

It lets the game use more ram than 32bit mode so in theory should increase performance.
