Crysis Benchmarks Appear

Sure crytek said that they would want Crysis to run on machines that were at the top end 2 years previous to the release date.

If that makes sense...

EA/Crytek statement on recent benchmark rumors
Wednesday, 31 January 2007

There have been quite a few rumors ciculating around the Internet regarding some questionable performance benchmarks. EA/Crytek have made this statement to inCrysis to clarify this.

"We understand there are some rumours in some of the message boards about technology benchmarks as it relates to Crysis and we want to assure you that these are just rumours. We realize that the technical specifications and requirements are a huge topic among our community and when we are prepared to give out our system spec recommendations, you will be the first to find out. Please treat everything you do not hear directly from us as speculation."

rest my case. :D

They should be developing these games so that £4000 systems have a hard time, and provide enough options through video settings etc etc to enable it to run on a £300 system imho.

Richie.

And divert attention away from making the game good? No thanks.
Takes long enough to make games already for PCs having to make them compatible with a multitude of hardware configurations. Making more use of even higher end hardware just adds more work to it.

ive watched some trailers of this game, (dont know about the bench mark bythe way) and its really good dont get me wrong , but i was really expecing a lot more from it. the graphics while good are not of the photorealistic quality that we should be playing with now.

i think the basic graphics behind the likes of hitman on 360 and rb6:v is where we have come closest.

rather than trying to make it look like its real we have to try and get at the bits that arnt real....if you get waht im saying

for example the viewing distence and drawdistence in hitman being two totaly differnt things i thought was a good step farward and the atention to detail on the opratives in rb6:v really made me think about what crysis should be showing us

im knockung it , so dont take it like that, but im not thrown in to an awe struck comba
