Crysis delayed again. Possible 2008 release

Not many ppl noticed that the first one took ages to come out with loads of set backs, it wasn't till it got released and praised it got noticed.
 
It's a shame because It was one of the few titles to really make me think about building a new PC. I'll stick with my 360 for now.

Do I care?

No, not really.

It's very pretty. But what does that matter? HL2 was pretty, Fear was pretty... Neither were much good really.

big loss for crytek, look what happened to valve, hl2 was supposed to be the best game ever with loads of development time etc but it was supposed to come out when farcry came out. but it was delayed.
farcry beat hl2 to market and so did other big games like doom 3 etc. so when hl2 came out it no longer looked as good as people said it would be because it had a lot more to live up to.


look at crysis, the current screenshots and videos look good NOW but come 2008 i guarantee they will be nothing special compared to the the other games out before then.

then crytek looses their edge.

Add HL2 to that also! Though it was worth the wait, still one of the top fps' on pc imo.

Whereas Far Cry was pretty and awesome.

I concede that the other two were less than thrilling, Fear in particular being a raging borefest.

Farcry was - until it became a monster infested game, then it lost it's sparkle.

I frequently play the first few levels again to have some fun. I love cheating to get the silenced MP5 and then going on a sneaky sneaky killing rampage. ;)

No big deal, not like Crysis is the first game to get delayed. Certainly wouldn't put it 3rd on the list :)

Prey? 9 years late
TF2? 8 years late and counting
 
I like the look of the game and will play it when it eventualy arrives, i have it pre ordered from a 'Brazilian' site and when it arrives i will play simple as that. i can't do anything before so why worry?
 
Not really fussed as i won't be able to afford a DX10 card and quad core till then anyhow :p

As for HL2 not being that good.... :eek: shocking behaviour!! it is an absolutely awesome game. Far Cry on the other hand... mleh, pretty good but nothing special. i think the sparkly blue water and shiny green leaves got to everyone :).

Sort of.... it was not in development for most of those years. Think it had a total development time of about 5 years from conception to release.
It got canned back in the late 90's and started up again later.
 
honestly I wish I never even heared of that game!!! :mad: there is looking forward to something and there is waiting years...for a game?!? I just have gone beyond caring... it looked ready for release aswell. In 2008 I bet it wont even look that great in comparison to other titles
 
Better to get it when it's ready. We're all sick and tired of getting buggy games anyway. These decisions are made for good reason.

There's quite a lineup for next year anyway. Hopefully we'll get a couple of surprise titles in the meantime ;)
 
^^Agreed its far better than, buy now patch later especially if you complete the game beforehand.

me and my mates were soooo looking forward to HUXLEY 'summer 06', like for months we were like in the summer we'll all go round as a clan and kick sum ass just like we had in bf2 the year previous :( . We waited and waited and then sept 06 was the next release date so it would have missed summer. So stupidly we think xmas hols... bargain. then before xmas hols happens we hear next year march ish?

I just dont see the point in releasing videos saying e.g. summer 06 then releasing it a year later :mad: ..... why?

I guess me and my friends are just naive and gullible :(

at least 'call of juarez' appeared out of nowhere and did not disapoint, now that was fun game single and multiplayer :D
