Obviously most of us know this is coming in two weeks. But how are you hopeing or expecting it to run. I just got a GTX so Im hope to get nearest to max as possible with my current spec @ 1680x1050. Im really looking forward to seeing if this really is well optimized as they say etc. Should be really good. Hoping for at least 4xAA/16xAF also. Does anyone have a link with some videos running on a GTX system?

IMO i think performance will be real poor with 4xaa in DX9 and more so in DX10 even on a GTX but well see in a few weeks.

Doubtful tbh. I think a lot of the recent vids were done on GTX systems, they looked to be running AA and in DX9. I also noticed a lot of tearing which means the FPS must have been high. But it's a case of wait and see now.

You know the demos of the game has been on the 8800 cards so..

Anyway, maxed out in Dx10 1680x1050 with 2x or no AA is good enough for me.

Yea maxed out in DX10 would be nice. AA isn't THAT necessary in this game. The motion blur it incorporates helps disguise jaggies. But 2xAA I would also be happy with if it comes to that.

Main problem is the demo comes out on a bloody Tuesday, middle of a working week practically. . Could have sorted it for Friday but then I would have spent all weekend trying to download it so I guess with it coming out Tuesday it means by the weekend it should be easy to source :)

My 8800GTS 640MB is shaking in its boots waiting for the Crysis demo, this will be the decider for me on wether I keep my GTS and wait for the next round of cards or if I upgrade to a GTX.

All depends on if the GTX shows a significant improvement in the Crysis demo.

GTS and a Quad should be fine I'd say.

You never know, this could be another Far Cry. That was a killer even on a high spec PC at the time. Time will tell, all else fails it's a good excuse to go G0 and slap another GTS in the old girl. :P

Oh for sure it will be. For instance there will be parts of the graphics options current cards can't even take advantage of yet. These will most likely be greyed out.

I saw and played the beta demo at i31. The systems they were running it on were c2d's with 1x 8800 gtx iirc. I dont know what settings they had it on although I know it wasnt on low and it ran fine. A few slow downs on real heavy bits but for the most part, very playable.

Guys. It looked awesome. Without doubt the prettiest game I have seen for a long time and that was in DX9.

Im sure they have tweaked it even more aswell so its certainly a game to look forward too!

:cool::cool:

So, is there any new info in this thread that'll make it worth my while reading it or is it all an idle speculation/thinly veiled attempt of 'look at my specs' thread again?

:p

 The demo is confirmed to come out on the 25th by EA if that is what you mean?

I played the buggy MP Beta @ 1920x1440 with all settings at highest they go and Nvidia driver at Quality setting with Super AA ON and got 35FPS Min, now that a lot less than BioShock or MOH-Airbourne but it is MP which can lag anyhow and it is a buggy beta, I know the SP final build will be better.

AA is not supported in anyway in the BETA. You get the performance hit but the AA does not seem to work. At least this is what one of the developers said on the BETA forums.

Aye if you've played GRAW or STALKER you'll recognise it, I first saw it in Area-51 (crap port.)

It's a sort of fake AA that doesn't anti-alias the full scene (not FSAA) and doesn't use multisampling, it just sort of blurs certain edges instead to give the impression that they're smoother.

Personally it makes me mad as hell developers are getting so lazy and using this crap deferred rendering technique, but I can't imagine the performance hit Crysis would take with real MS FSAA with all the foliage.

How do you know for a fact that they use Deferred Anti Alias?. This screenshot suggests otherwise.

From all the screenshots I've seen with AA enabled and my own testing with the AA modes I am pretty positive it's deferred antialiasing, that screenshot would definitely suggest otherwise but compare 8xCSAA in any Crysis screenshot to 8xCSAA in games like Oblivion or whatever and you'll see a huge difference. :(

It's more a case of the resolve not configured properly IMO. It looks like only some parts of textures get the resolve. Hard to explain I have a feeling this is why Cry Alex said it was not supported properly as of yet.
