Hi there, please can you help me, when trying to play Crysis multiplayer beta 3 I have graphic problems in-game.

I have an ATI x1950 Pro 512mb, pretty new.

I've checked the system requirments

REQUIRED SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS:

· OS: Windows XP. This Betatest can be played on Vista but Vista is not officially supported. DX10 libraries are not available in the MP Betatest

· CPU (Single Core): Intel P4 3.2 GHz/AMD Athlon 3200+ or higher

· RAM: 1.5 GB

· Disk Drive*: 8X or faster DVD-ROM drive

· Hard Drive: 4 GB or more of free space

· Video: DirectX 9.0c, NVIDIA 7... series/ATI X... series or higher

· Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

· Multiplayer: 2 to 32 players, network or Internet connection required (Cable, DSL, or faster
connection)

My card should be ok shouldnt it? When I am ingame, I can see the gun, and the arms, and run about and shoot etc, but the graphics on the walls, floor, sky, water are all messed in. Black textures and yellow textures, some of the textures said the word "compiling" on them.

Any help is much appretiated, I really want to get this game working, I've tried low setting, medium settings and high in the graphics menu.

some textures are litterally compiling, so the 1st few mins of the game is always a bit funky, i suppose different machines take different amounts of time to compile everything

usually for me the 1st time i see something it compiles, afterwards its all fine

Well my PC is pretty old, my cpu, ram and mobo are old, its just my graphics card which is new, I've got amd 64 3000+ and 1gig of pc3200 memory, asus mobo.

Just cant seem to sort this problem though, ill go join another server and see if it goes away but I dont think it will ya know. I've never seen anything like it. The graphics are just totally messed up. It's not normal.

I to was getting major graphical glitches like the yellow splashes and missing textures to the point where it was unplayable.
I was running catalyst 7.9's to begin with so went back to 7.8's and it seemed to work.
Just make sure you turn off AA in control panel it might work then. Did for me anyways.

I think this happened to most people when they first loaded up Crysis. After the first time it only takes a few seconds to go normal.

It is something to do with them debugging an error found previously. If you read the latest update notes it explains in detail why it happens. I'd paste them here, but it wont let me log in to the beta forums, I just get a 404 page when I enter the password!

It works sometimes, but others it doesn't. Once I enter the beta access password it just goes to a 404 error page. I've tried all kinds of stuff but it seems to happen randomly so I dunno. I think it is not saving cookies properly. No big deal, there is nothing interesting on the forums anyway haha.

Yellow textures are normal, just wait five minutes on the boat or something.

PS, can you please come back and tell us what the performance is like? A friend of mine wants to play eventually, Ive been hinting that he needs to buy a new PC (he knows jack about hardware), but it looks like he will probably just get a new GPU. Similar setup to yours if he does you see. Cheers.

It seems to have sorted its self out, your not going to believe this, but for some strange reason crysis does not like low resolutions....I was running in 1024x768 to begin with and the graphics were all messed in.....now I run it in 1600x1050 and it runs perfect, no graphics problems. I run the game in medium graphic settings.

The game runs sweet. I am really surprised. The engine is pretty good really because other then my graphics card the rest of my PC is pretty old.

The game loads up fast, it joins a server fast, everything is fast about it. They have really worked on speed for this engine aswell as good graphics.

The game its self is also awsome too, it feels differant to any other game and I just love everything about it. Its how I imagined it to be from watching the movies. Hate playing multiplayer though, cant wait for the real thing so I can play the single player game.

P.S. I can run it in high settings but it jerks, so thats why I run it in medium, I've only got 1gig of ram, if I had more then maybe it would be ok.

it shouldn't be anything to do with your resolution. As already pointed out it was a debugging (or something) feature specifically enabled for the beta (from the second version) in which the textures are compiled dynamically as you view them.. they should have gone away by themselves regardless of whether you changed res or not :)

Just noticed another problem with the beta, when I come out of the game and try to launch it again later on it stays in the processes and the game says that crysis is already running, and then when you go to end task it, it wont let you end task it.

So now I am going to have to restart the PC......pffff
