Nope, not another graphics whinge - just a few things that get on my nerves a bit, anyone else think the same?

1) Crosshair. Why are all the scope crosshairs about 10 pixels wide! Its impossible to see anything through the crosshair on long shots, as the face/head is obscured through crosshair.... why couldnt it be so much thinner and less "blurred edges" like a real one?

2) Mounted guns. Considering Crysis is most definately about tactics and differing approaches, why on earth do we still have MOHAA style "fixed weapon with unlimited ammo" approach? Farcry did it right in some places with jeeps/boats.... surely it'd be more realistic for each Humvee to have 200 rounds of MG ammo, and fixed positions to have say... 400 or 500? Would have added loads of tactical choices, such as distractions and removing the ability to just blaze away stupidly from a Humvee until theres no scenery left...

Anyone else agree?

a few of my annoyances are the fact that u can shoot someone about 100 times in the foot and then wont fall over or die or go down. also it takes about 100 shots at a humvee's engine to blow it up, just seems to take forever to kill it unless u shoot the gas tank :/

Yup - lack of crouch toggle is another one, hopefully a patch could sort that out though, if people moan at EA/Crytek enough

Totally agree with the fact that Crysis is just a game, but why do stuff like reduce the number of bullets in a NK guys gun cos he's shot at you, yet have a bazillion rounds in a mounted MG, when the damn predecessor could manage to have more realistic ammo setup!! Did love the FarCry realism mod tho, proper bullets lost when u changed a magazine and everything...

I can sympathise with loads of rounds to destroy a Humvee from the devs point of view... its supposed to make it a knack/trick/skill to get to blow it up using the gas tank - ever watched/read Black Hawk down, Humvees can take a LOT of punishment! Its not Last Action Hero u know :p

I thought he worst thing about this game was that half of it was poo. Like the VTOL mission, inside the mountain and the tank mission.

i quite liked it, shame you never get to fly a chopper tho + there are so many things in the editor that didnt make it into the final game :(

My aim just feels unnatural. in css I played on a very high competitive level, and I hit people ininstants across the map. here I have to shoot the guys 20 times in the body because its somehow hard to hit the head :S

also, silencer does 3 times less damage... which sucks.

Gotta agree on the aim there, im no CS:S overlord (and lets face it, CS:S has HUGE head hitboxes) but on a University LAN match I have been known to own at around 47/7 :D Never really played competitive, but it does seem that the Crysis heads are nigh-on impossible to hit, except by sprayage and pure luck - and how come on the intro Nomad kills those North Koreans in 2/3 body shots apiece from the SCAR when us lamerz take about 9 to the body... on medium!

I like the silencer, its one of the nice bits where they have (not necessarily 100% accurate) at least nodded at reality, as a silenced weapon is a much less powerful one.

Not played much of it yet, but my minor annoyences would be that all the enemy character models look the same, sound the same and keep saying the same things.
Die you American pig is realy getting old now :p

Hopefully further in the game there insults vary slightly.

Personally don't have much trouble hitting people in the head. CSS is hardly the pinnacle of realism when it comes to aiming :p. You know if you go into strength mode you have much less weapon movement right? :) And also lying down of course. Just one silenced FY7I shot on hard is enough to take them down and it's easy enough from quite a distance.
Apparently they wear a lot of body armour ;)

I already found their moan-form earlier and sent them my comments about how I wish that we could play without the CD in and how they really should put a toggle crouch option in there.

The moan form can be found here, so get writing people!

I thought you could.
Nah. You can in COD4, you might be thinking of that.

As said there is also a prone mode that you could be thinking of.

I have only played the first level and a bit of the second but it seems too easy so far. To start with you begin with an assault rifle, you have full armour and the ability to become invisible. If you take damage you instantly get it back. You get told over the radio when your approaching enemies. Within 30 minutes I had a rocket launcher and a sniper rifle. Right at the start you get a jeep with a mounted gun and unlimited ammo. And you can save whenever you feel like it. I hope it will get harder because this is pointless. Oh and the AI SUCKS.

Agreed.

Though I have stopped playing the game now. Might try the Mp at some point, but got COD4 today, and may stop off and see if anywhere on high street has UT3, so my gaming time is very split right now.

Are you playing it on easy? I'm playing it on normal and it sounds harder than you're describing. I dread to think how it is on delta. Also, you stop getting warnings about when you're getting close to enemies, you're basically in a tutorial at the moment so keep that in mind.

Playing on medium (default I think?), I will play some more and if it stays the same I will try a harder setting.
