Hey guys,

I have Crysis and was looking to start playing it. However, even with my system as shown in sig, I cannot run on high settings at my native resolution.

At the moment I'm running at: DirectX 9, 1920x1080, VSync on, 4xAA, All Settings High.

I'm only getting 30-50FPS on average (only a few minutes into the game).

Are there any mods/tweaks to get the game running at 60FPS solid, without losing too much visual quality?

If you can accept shadows at medium you may see some gains.

are you sure you need the antialiasing? if you disable it the game has its build in edge-blurring instead which looks good in quite a lot of situations

You'll be struggling to get 60fps solid with 'only' 2x 4890 unless you turn some stuff down, Crysis needs more grunt than that in the most demanding situations if you want to maintain minimum FPS.

I'd recommend disabling Vsync and lowering AA for starters. Get rid of depth of field / motion blur and maybe look at knocking shadows down a bit.

Imo that sounds like a respectable amount of fps, aslong as your minimum is above 25fps is situations where a lot is going on on-screen at once then your fine.

It's always nice to be able to boast more fps though I know, but is it needed? Really?

Is there a problem with running DX10? 48xx are DX10.1 cards, yes?

Drop to 720P res [1368*768] with 2xAA - my single 4850 [512mb xfx xxx, 2.4Ghz Q6600, 8GB ram, 64bit DX10 mode, Win7] gets a seriously useful jump in FPS with everything maxed with those settings as opposed to 1080p with no AA, at least on Warhead - but it makes a massive difference in the single player Crysis demo I have here too in terms of smoothness*, and unless you are pixel peeping I challenge you to seriously notice the difference when you are actually playing the game, as opposed to trying to make it look as pretty as possible ;)

[*possibly a moot point as the demo won't have any optimisations of patches that the full version will have had by now]
