Absolutely struggling to even play this, it was okay before but now (im at the school level) it's unplayable, it just lags consantly and freezes all of the time so in a combat scenes it's like watching a security camera, freeze lag can't even play it. Put all settings to medium and it's still the same. Specs:

Geforce 7900 GTO 512MB
2GB Corsair
3.4GHZ P4 X2
2x250GB HD's

I even defragged the drive but still the same crap, I guess I'll try putting it on all low and seeing if it still does it.

Heck I just got myself a new 8800GT and even that struggles on High/Medium at 1680x1050 with no AA. Fine most of the time but once you hit the ice part of the game it becomes a slide show at 5fps. Then the second you leave the ice it's fine again. Something very funny going on with the ice rendering.

It's for overall. I upgraded not long ago, it's kinda annoying all this upgrading for the PC, maybe thats why im swaying towards a console instead.

I haven't played Crysis but I have been reading up on it and players experiences with it. Your experiences do not sound right at all for that hardware. Presumably your PC is fine playing other games? Have you tried re-installing Crysis and ensuring you don't have any AA or the like on in the nVidia graphics card control software (I dont know what its called, last two cards have been ATI)?

You may have to set shaders to low. Shadows and Post processing are the next performance killers, try them on low too.

As suggested, you can customise the features the game uses, and that may be worth trying.

Your PC isn't all that up to do in all honesty... but the game in my opinion is NOT worth spending money on new hardware for... it really is not all that good.

Most critics disagree with you.

Personally, I think the fairly open-ended nature of the gameplay (for a shooter anyway) is a breath of fresh air. A far cry (aha!) from the linear shooters of yore.

To the OP, what drivers are you using? If you are not using the 169.12 Betas off the Nvidia site, perhaps give them a try.

Also, some other minro things to do, that may or may not help are to defrag, perhaps try starting windows with a clean boot, run some spyare and adware programs to make sure you system clean.

Also what res are you running?

I really wouldnt bother playing the game on low as it looks worse than Farcry and completely ruins the atmosphere and immersion. Medium settings at least are a must.
