Crysis Warhead

Yeah, most likely with Cryengine 3. Crytek has stated before there's a sequel in the works. It won't be PC exclusive anymore though.

Has anyone had a problem with the game freezing while loading levels? Every time I try to load into the second level (Shore Leave) the game freezes about 92% and nothing I've done has sorted it out.

I just don't see how they are going to get anywhere near the same graphical fidleity on the consoles. I have a feeling the textures are going to be awful!

PLEASE tell me that this engine will look better than that on PC? This is supposed to be "new"? Crysis looked so much better and more detailed it isn't funny. If they release this muddy trash as new and improved, they have definitely sold their souls to the unwashed heathen console masses.

My hope is that they include the previous ability to crank details and resolution on the PC version and that it will restore the things that made Crysis such an experience and seperated it from the myriad of console port garbage.

Those screenshots look like one step forward and then they fell back down the whole damn hill.

^ I'd be ashamed of that if I was Crytek.

OK so Cryengine didnt quite look like the pre-rendered videos we all drooled over, but it was (and still is) the best looking FPS engine in existence.

That looks like a washed-out version of FarCry on low settings.

well i hope that cryenegine 3 on pc will still have very high settings. Apparantly the console versions are equal to a mix of medium and high. Although i bet the textures will be laughable and the draw distance looks terrible.

what makes me laugh is the picture saying "realtime"......lol, no **** or that's the worst pre-rendered cgi i've ever seen.

It really looks ****, the thing is most people would look at that and go "oh yeah, that's what Crysis looked like, consoles are just as good as PC's blah blah blah"

Crysis looks like this, not that blurry mess.

Nice screenshot! ^

I have just bought Crysis Maximum Edition (Crysis, Warhead and Crysis Wars). I declined buying the original Crysis after reading about the performance of the game. A bit like Far Cry was. . .so I decided to wait till I have the rig to run it well.

PLayed about 3 hours of crysis yesterday and it was awesome. Still tinkering with th esettings, only had them on High.

Just replayed the game after seeing this topic and completely forgot just how epic the explosions are! Well, the graphics in general are obviously stella (Though i'm not the biggest fan of the snow levels compared to the tropical/mine levels), but the more dynamic sections of the game are obscenely good. Playing full Enthusiast @ 1920x1200 on a GTA260/216 too, which whilst it could do with a little more grunt, still offers a more than adequate gaming experience.

Completely fed up with this game, can anyone confirms that it works with Vista 64-bit please?

So far I've managed to complete two levels, "Call me Ishmael" and "Shore Leave" but all the rain dancing, virgin sacrifices, balancing on one foot while receiting the alphabet backwards, counting to 1 million in hex and generally hurling every abuse in English, Irish, Klingon and some other language I made up especially for this game which had to be done to load the second level just isn't working to load the third level. The stupid loading bar gets to about 76% and stops, even threatening the computer with coffee isn't working.

Has anyone discovered some ancient deities who can be called upon to make Crysis Warhead actually load a level?

Btw, the game is not loading any level in DX10, DX9, 64-bit and 32-bit modes except the first two with much nudging.

Also, sorry for the slight hijack brenkehoe but I've looked everywhere for a solution to this problem yet nobody seems to have a concrete solution.

Thanks in advance,

Antar.

P.S. I tried all the normal stuff like driver re-installs, game re-installs, inserting foot into computer, reducing all the game settings to minimum etc.

Working fine on Vista 64 bit here. Perhaps a slightly outlandish suggestion but if you've purchased a legal copy of the game could you source another 'copy' online and see if you have better luck?

Wouldn't that alternative copy result in chickens though? I'd rather my legitimate copy working but I suppose it's too much to ask for the levels in a game to load :o.

Oh well, it's probably something I've done so I'll leave it for a while and come back to it again after a week or two.

I had exactly that problem, (sometimes if you leave it for ~10mins it eventually got into the level, but most of the textures were fubar). I tried a complete reinstall, deleting all hidden traces of the game and still nothign solved that one glitch!

IIRC the only solution i found (by accident i may add) was to set everything to the lowest graphical settings, start the level, get clear of the start area, then save. Close the program to desktop, start it up again, change all the settings back to your decent config, then load the save and go from there.

It only ever happened on the start of that perticular level.

EDIT: Ah missed the last line of your post and it says you've already tried the above :( maybe leave it 'loading' on the lowest settings for a longer tiem and see if you can actually get into the level?
