crysis, what do you need to play on ultra with good fps

Crysis Warhead

2x 4890, Q9550 @ 3.7, 4x1066

1920*1200 x16 x2AA max settings with extreme mod added on run smooth as hell

BUT

In Crysis some of the maps are just broke, example is part before the tank map. You have to sink a large ship & you can see Phyco on a crane shooting. I always rememered that part running like poop with 2xX1900, 2x3870 & 2x4890.

Yes you can run Crysis with x4 or more but you find it stutters at some points (20 mins of great play, you reach some tin shacks and stutters a little)...simply not worth it. Turning motion blurr to 80% & have 2xAA.

Without repeating previous comments, if you can play Crysis/Warhead as intended (solid frame rate) its by the far the best fps shooting ive ever played. CryTek MUST get some more out soon, the engine is done now we want a CoD4 style game but on Crysis Engine .....wow that would be good.

If it weren't for consoles, I think more games would be using the Crytek engines rather than the Unreal 3 engine which is so dominant, yet ultimately inferior.

totally true and there would be a lot more DX10 games out there and this is why i hate consoles as it is killing the pc games market :(

280 SLI at the very minimum, for total maxing.

I can play fairly comfortably at 1920x1200 Very High DX10 2x AA but at times you can really feel it slooooowing down.

I think piracy killed the PC games market more than anything, which is why a lot of developers turned to consoles, which is a shame.

Funnily enough PC gaming is actually greater than all the consoles and hendhelds combined.

It's by far the largest group. I think devs go for consoles because it's easier and they can make more money per sale considering the average price for PC games is £20-25 whereas it's more £40-45 for console games.

well i run crysis at very high 1920x1200 with 2xAA on my 4870x2 and its as smooth as you like =] (was also smooth with the Q9550) so dnt blame the i7 helping :P hehe

What do you mean by 'greater than all consoles', sales, PC gamers or developers?

Pretty sure the articles or press releases that say how many PC gamers are consider people like Peggle players as a PC gamer. If PC gaming was so huge why then do we not even come close to sales figures of console games ? The call of duty series way outsells the PC versions even though the series started on the PC (also please, dont say the game was dumbed down for console gamers as a response, its a load of bull, that game is absolutely fantastic no matter what system you play it on, and works brilliantly on each). Anyway........

On my single 280, playing Crysis/Warhead at 1920x1200 @ Very High/Enthusiast with no AA was pretty good, it was sort the baseline you could play the game at with those settings, dips below 20 here and there but mostly a solid 30. I expect having 2 of them would provide a much better experience. I think a rock solid 60 FPS with the highest seconds is quite a way away, although when it happens the game is going to simply look downright amazing :).

lolwut? Console sales are far far far greater than PC sales. They're probably cheaper due to lack of sales.

Have you run vantage with your GTX280? Mine scores only about 10.5K on GPU, Ive seen 216s get higher so wondering if it maybe throttling as mine runs at about 65-70C stock as well.

What do you need to play crysis on ultra with high FPS ?

A time machine , go about 1 year into the future and the hardware available then might be able to run it
