CRYSIS - WOW!!

I really want this game to run with max detail minus the dx10 features on my spec and then after i complete it or when funding permits im gonna get the latest dx10 card and vista see for myself the difference :)

really? sounds like sloppy \ poor coding to me than anything, or just a bad engine
 
what people forget is although 360 gfxs are slightly and I do mean slightly better now, there isn't going to be a new box for what 5years?

Pc games will be looking better than 360's in about 6months, in 3 years the 360 will be so far behind. It's the same every time a console is released, it has it's glory for 6months then the high end pc trash all over them.

Imo. I'm sick of hearing of it already and it's not out for another half year min...
 
isn't that what was so amazing about far cry? there wasn't much hype, everyone was talking about how HL2 was delayed again! and how Doom3 was going to be amazing and everything and then out of nowhere came far cry and it was beautiful beyond belief.

or is my memory confused?

also, surely crysis hasn't been optimized yet, so no one's gonna know how well it'll run on a pair of 8800s.

was just thinking this. saw this thread when it started... just happened to see the number of pages now and thought 'i bet everyones going on about specs, vista, 20gb ram etc.'
 
sorry for startin this thread then! i just thought this game looked pretty impressive in my eyes, with the new shadow rendering and stuff.

agreed so far until the 8800's came out it was demonstrated on crossfire setups at silly resolutions and still got very very good fps in dx9 mode i am so looking forward to this my rig seems more than ready aswell. :D
 
PC gaming is far from over, in fact I wont buy the xbox360 only LOTR II and GOW made me think twice and even then as always its gonna appear graphicly better on the pc and nothing beats the keyboard+mouse combo imo ;)

The PC is just spoilt for hardware and if you got the wad 24inch HD TFTs and 8800GTXs at your disposal....

Still will be fun once UT2007, crysis and others finaly arrive on PC.

Me and a mate finished the first 2 difficulty levels in an evening (a uni evening stretches from end of lectures til half 3 am :p )

But yeah, GoW has good visuals, they're not by any means mindblowing or revolutionary, merely an improvement as devs finally get to grips with the 360.


Also, I think Crysis and Quake Wars are going to be my favourite games ever as long as the gameplay is good :)
 
Sadly i do see the point people say pc games are dying... rainbow6, deus ex, ghost recon

all franchises ruined by becomming console games

But crysis does look extremely pretty, when all the made up specs calm down i will be looking to buy me a nice new pc in time for this

Try expanding the GoW graphics engine to incorporate a 5km^2 map, then watch your Xbox360 burst into flames! :cool:

Seriously, GoW is very different from Crysis and shouldn't really be compared.
 
Id like to know how you all know how its gona run seen as its not due out till after April next year, can you give me this weeks lottery numbers please. :p
