Just like to say that despite many people on here saying that Crysis isn't good game and "nothing more than a glorified benchmark", I have been enjoying it quite a lot since I got it last week. Have found the storyline interesting and the gameplay quite fun, using the nanosuit's different modes to choose the best way out of a situation.

Just a little incentive to not always rely on other's opinion although they can be very helpful. :)

Definately not dissapointed.

The first hour or two of Crysis was fairly fun tbh. It was even a good game for the most part, but obviously the hype far out-stripped the actual gameplay...

I think a lot of people got angry at it as it made there PC's feel inadequate :) Personally i love the game, the nano-suit is just too much fun.

Take the pretty graphics away and it's just a generic fps with a few nifty features though right? Which I'd of thought is the position most people will be in.

"a generic FPS with a few nifty features" describes the majority of modern FPS games...many of which are regarded as good fun. I think the issue is that people were expecting so much more. If Crysis didn't have the Far Cry name attached to it and all the claims it made about graphics and AI, people would've probably rated it much more highly.

If this game is such a big machine buster, what system was it tested on? Going by the number of bugs, I doubt there was much investment in testing. Personally, if the game is this buggy then it makes you wonder if it's just inefficient coding that brings most systems to it's knees rather than cutting "next gen" software.

Nano suit does nothing that Deus Ex's augmentations didn't do 8 years ago. There is very little new under the (admittedly beautiful) sun.

Crysis has had disagreements with many people's l337 uber-pc's, causing them to dislike it.

It's a pretty good game. Not fantastic, and probably not quite up to the hype surrounding it, but pretty good nonetheless.

Personally, I don't think the engine is a patch on Source, but there we go..

Aside from the pretty graphics that not many are able to take advantage of, what makes Crysis non-generic?

The open world that allows you tackle each objective in your own way. Instead of "run here and press enter". Although as soon as you hit the alien section of the game, that's exactly what the game turns into.

Well taking out a helicopter then watching it crash into a building full of Koreans, crushing it and killing them all is fun :) Sneaking upto a troop of them, grabbing 1 and throwing him at another taking them both out and finishing off the last couple with well placed headshots, all nice and clean :p Its also funny using speed to run into Koreans knocking them off there feet :D.
