cs 1.6/css players - your gaming setup

Steelseries Qck Heavy
Corsair K90 keyboard
Grado SR60 headphones

Razer mice have never been decent imo.

And yes - Purposely playing in 800x600 is silly. If you are not 'Pro' or trying to be 'Pro' why bother?

Because the game feels nicer at that resolution.

What do you have against competitive gaming? You realise people making a living off it?

My current setup is:

Microsoft Optical mouse (Previously a Razer Imperator but had sensor issues)
Mouse Bungee
Steelseries Qck
Dull old Microsoft Media Keyboard
Sennheiser HD558

Ingame sensitivity: 2.5
Resolution: 800x600
Refresh rate: 120Hz

I'm looking at the Steelseries Sensei as a replacement mouse, but still undecided.

I have been to quite a few iseries now, got back from i45 with a couple of notes about what people have. Benq XL2410/20T monitors, Steelseries 6G/Zowie Celeritas/Qpad keyboards, mechanical seems to have had a rapid adoption the last 6 months. Mice, Sensei/Zowie AM/G400s and Razer, those were the ones i saw the most of.

With mice, the Zowie AM is the best tournament mouse available right now IMO, I have reviewed a lot of mice, the G400 is the only other mouse i would recommend right now.
Keyboards, anything mechanical, but for FPS, blacks or red Cherry switches. With mouse pads, Steelseries seem have the longest life, my boogie bug pad lasted about 6 months before i started wearing it out and seeing reduced peformance, currently using a QCK+.

My set up is

Zowie AM
QCK+
Qpad MK-80
Steelseries 7H

You tried the Steelseries Sensei ? I tried the G400 and didn't like the shape after using an ambidextrous mouse before it.

I agree about the Qck. Took some getting used to for me at first after using a hard plastic pad for so long, but now I wouldn't go back to one.

benq xl24t 1920x1080

roccat kone+ mouse
Roccat taito mat
razer lycosa keyboard

How you find the Kone+ ? Heard a few people say it is too bulky.

Did you not read what I said? Widescreen resolutions look ridiculous in cs 1.6 and are stretched. The game was designed with lower resolutions in mind, not to mention that is how I played it from day one back in 2000. The game feels better at that resolution, and anything higher in widescreen is an overstretched mess. What has all that got to do with trying to be 'pro'?

Think it used to be

deathadder
steelseries mousepad (the first one?!)
steelseries 7g

Ingame sensitivity: 3.2 or 3.4
Resolution: 640

The Sensei is a good mouse, it is £70 though, also, if you dont like shiny surfaces, like me, it is really annoying. There is the fnatic version which has a rubber surface, or you could wait for the RAW version. The hope is that the RAW version is basically the Xai with a new firmware that fixes the positive acceleration issues on the sensor, so the RAW version could be really good. So you are basically faced with a question, the sensei, the sensei raw or the zowie am, the raw and am being the same price, one with laser, one with optical. I will have to wait for a sample of the Raw, but it should be the laser tournament mouse of choice, until all the companies release a new set of mouse with the avago 9800 laser sensor.
