Hey guys,

The past few days, I have had some connection issues to CS..

When in a Lobby and searching for a match, at the bottom next to the server and player population etc..it says that..

my ping is 500 (odds) to the nearest official servers ??

Any idea guys on how to go about sorting it?

Start from the beginning:
Ping your router, whats the response?
Ping BBC, whats the response?
Ping the IP of the CS server, whats the response?

Are you connecting over VPN? If so why? deactivate it and go without.

Got up this morning, couldn't even load a web page. Phoned up SKY and there is an "external line fault". Case opened up with BT to sort, can take up to 5 days :mad:

Not happy..

In my experience (Support for a Business ISP) BT are usually out for a Local Network fault (LN Fault) on the physical copper wires within 24 to 48hrs. If so, this would very likely be affecting your ability to make telephone calls.
If its a Broadband only fault then you'll require an SFI (Special Faults Investigation) to check the Socket/Drop Wire into your premises, DP on/near your property, PCP (Green Street Cab) and Exchange. This normally requires an appointment between the hours of 8am and 1pm and 1pm till 6pm / Mon - Sat.

Would advise showing the Engineer the symptoms plugged directly into the Sky Router. Lack of web pages, ping tests and trace routes. All are useful tools to prove to Openreach there is a fault somewhere on the Network. Pro tip - offer the Engineer a tea or coffee, its amazing how this simple pleasantry makes the Engineer far more receptive to completing thorough tests onsite rather than just PQT'ing (Pair Quality Test) the line with his hand tester saying there isn't a fault and clearing off. Get this far too often with my customers.

Ring sky and ask them to reduce your max delay to 8ms, this should bring your ping down massively
