Is there fun to be had with this game, if you just buy the base game?

I see ppl selling knifes and guns for in excises for £200, is the game now passed the base game or can a new player still have fun with it?

It's a great game, The knifes + gun skins you see on the marketplace are just cosmetics, They only make your guns and knifes look different.

Be warned though the community is toxic as can be.

I returned to it after a long time away (hadn't really touched it since 1.6) and I'm really enjoying it. Some very nice new maps, with an interesting seasonal aspect to it. Weapon/map balance is as polished as ever.

Don't worry too much about skins, as people have said, they're purely cosmetic. The game will try and tempt you to splash some cash by offering you boxes (you can just sell these on the marketplace if you have no interest at all). I've put in about £25-30 opening boxes, though I have made some of that back selling unwanted skins.

don't worry about the skins and cases etc.

I get drops and anything of value goes on the steam market to make some pennies for DLC or other games when on sale.

its a good game to play and I am on playing MM most evenings

have you played any of the CS games?

Nope never plaid CS before, i know SC:GO as been out for a long time now and didnt want to drop into a game that i would be lost in a never ending sea of DLC's because i am so behind. i may get it only a few ££'s on the bay

+1

this basically sums the game up, particularly the toxic community bit. do you have mates to play this with? if not you might want to drop into the main cs:go thread and buddy up.

if you're new to the world of CS you will really not enjoy solo'ing

I think i have a few friend that do play not asked them.
i will have a look at the thread also

Thank al be ordering the game.

if you play for an hour or so and find it crap you can just request a refund through steam (as long as its bought from them)

The only DLC with CS:GO so to speak are the operations but you don't need them to play the main game i.e MM.

I've no idea what makes this game to be as popular as it still is. Boggles the mind.

It's competitive and very well balanced. Along with the skins which people thrive off. I like playing due to the rush you get when playing with tactics, in a team and also the added skill of weapon control makes it very enjoyable

I don't think I have the reflexes any more that I did 10 years ago to play something like this and be anything but fodder.
