Hi guys, i hope somebody can help :( When i play CS source, my session is usually ended by a game crash. The crash is not consistant in timing, it could be 2 minutes in or 2 hours, when it happens the game freezes and causes a sound loop of a about 1 second.

I'm currently running on a P4 3.2GHz, 1GB ram, an ATI X600 and also an audigy 2 zs  I've looked on steam and they havnt been able to help me :( Has anyone else experienced this problem and solved it?

Many thanks in advance,

Aelred89

Not experienced it. Can only suggest the usual things - directx updates, driver updates (graphics, motherboard etc.), reduce the overclock (if any) to make sure stability isn't an issue.

I get this, despite COUNTLESS attempts to sort it out, it seems that absolutely nobody knows how to fix it, not even valve.

Good luck, I have had this crash for months and months and just got to live with it.

You're not alone, a few others have this also

Aelred89 have you overclocked anything at all ? In past the only time Ive had any problems with locking up and freezing is when Ive pushed the memory overclock a little to high .

Aelred89 - My friend is also having the exact same problem as you.
You say you have an ATI X600, my friend has an ATI X700 so there is not much different in graphics cards. Maybe its them...

Thats what i'm thinking, my friend also has an X600 and he also has the crashes  New rig next month so i guess i'll just have to put up with it :(
