Going to buy one of these when pay day comes round...which one though!

I used to play cs1.5/1.6 and enjoyed that, but it got to the point where there were too many cheats on it

Never played TF before, seen lots of screenshots and it does look a really fun game.

Im OK at FPS, i dont want to be slaughtered everytime i walk round a corner, but dont want to win every single round by 100 points

Which of the 2 would you suggest i get?
 
Well, I personally prefer TF2 a lot more, however I have a feel that may just be me. :)

That was my problem with CS:S, probably because I was a complete newbie though but TF2 is easy to learn and even after 3 months of playing it I'm still learning new things with all the different classes.
 
To be fair, both games can have their moments when you die pretty quickly, still think the Soldier's critical hit rockets should be toned down a bit in TF2, Demoman is slightly overpowered too IMO. It's rather funny if you snapshot in deathcam mode when you see various labels like "Bit of you!" and "Your foot!" scattered over the screen.

TF2 is easy to be good at, and hard to master, the cartoony atmosphere just makes it hilarious at times whilst also giving the most advanced graphics in the Source engine atm. The characters randomly emote depending on what just happened; and the Taunt key is awesome.
 
TF2 without a doubt. Far more fun. Yet just as competitive from what I have seen. Teamwork is far more enjoyable too.

So much fun.
 
i get slaughtered i ntf2 and find it hard to kill anything, do quite well in css though.

Just hate how half the guns in tf2 are shotguns etc, do ok with a pryo though im quite good at ambushing and some good rushing.

Also make a good engineer

are you just following me round :p

am looking into COD4, still going through COD on veteran at the minute so dont want to get it until ive finshed that, COD2 online is quite good as well if you get into a decent server
 
why don't you just get both, CSS is dead for me and my m8s [mainly due to the amount we caned it over the years] but it can still be good fun... plus its cheap as the budgie of steam and so is TF2 if u get the orange box!!! :D
 
I think thats the problem, I've played it so long I have forgotten what it is like entering a server with no experience...I remember the first (and only) time I fell for the F10 trick...

Get the full Orange Box if you can afford it. It can be had quite cheap if you shop about. If not then TF2 is definately more fun.
