Bit out of the loop with this game, can anyone recommend the best ways to have fun in this game? I'm bored of regular Hostage/Bomb stuff, can anyone recommend some good fun servers with interesting mods or anything?

Look for servers running gun game, or deathmatch servers

I am a big fan of the gun game mod, just filter search results for maps with "gg_" at the beginning. If possible see if you can find a map with deathmatch mode on as well then there's no waiting like in standard CS:S. Much better for quick and easy deathmatch thrills!

ZOMBIE MOD

join the i3d zm 50 man servers. i only play cs to play these. lots of fun.

GunGame, we run a server in that, plus 24/7 office, 24/7 dust2, and a allmaps rotation. (All on a dedicated box). Link is in my Sig, and servers are listed on the Right hand Side.

Give the GunGame a go, its great fun. You start with the lowest pistol, and get a kill with each to get better guns. Theres a few different variations of that too.

SURF!

Search for surf_ maps, will take a while for you to get used to but when you are surfing it's great fun

Ahh memories coming back now! I hope the zombie server you mentioned isn't on that ******* zm_lila_panic map, so many borked zombie servers with that on. And ah yes the good ol' surf aswell. This'll keep me busy until some playable morsal of crysis is released.

Join any old server and start playing the team kill mod... thats fun for a while.

If you want some real adrenalin though the hackzors mod is good, gives you the ability to run at like 300mph, but has an auto headshot function to compensate for the ridiculous speed and surge of adrenalin from playing so fast.

On a more serious note, i like the zombie mods and the gungame ones... although i can never get the final grenade/knife kill levels
