CSCS card advice

I did the white one and it was alright.

I would say to do a couple hours practice for it tho, but not over 4 (some things eg safety bars from height and fire extinguishers require revision)

£125 training??? Never heard of anything so silly for a cscs card. For £125 you could take the test 4 times and buy a second hand copy of the book (if you couldn't find it for free online or library). It's a very easy test; so obtain book, read a little bit a week before test then take test. I'll be amazed if you fail.

I done mine through the job centre, sat down with a guy for a week and done the test on the following monday passed easily.

However i'm still waiting for my card to come through and i passed on the 9th of Feb, apparently they got a back log.

Good job i got certificates so i'm working now anyway !

As above, don't bother with the training - borrow or buy the book

I actually bought the app this time round as it has the scenarios and mock tests

When you are confident book the test, pass and apply for your card

Black card here - took 11 minutes

Been a while since I've held cscs, don't remember there being so many different types issued (or if the test varies), sure mine was white if it makes any difference but it was seriously not something you will require any training on to pass.

In all honesty you would be unlucky for questions to come up where you actually need to have read the book - but it's worth doing regardless

125 plus vat they really are turning a stupid pointless test in to a cash cow these days

My ecs card is up this year so there's a waste of time and money I've got look forward to

PQP holder here, mainly agree with the rest on here, grab a 2nd hand copy of the book, make sure its not too old though. There are a few behavioural tests, the what would you do kind of thing but these are quite straight forward.
