Css cmd rates

There is more to be gained to setting your cl_interp value to whatever your ping is. i.e. Ping of 30 - cl_interp .03
This helps a lot more than playing with your rates. These are server side limited now anyway. It might say that you are running 80-80 but with valves commands, the server will only send at 66-66 if thats what the server is set at.

30k is overkill lol.

and 101 was back in the old CS days. i'm pretty sure source is limited to 100.

I thought 30k was overkill, but I tried all settings between 15k - 25k and the choke / loss was still all over the place. I set it to 30k and they settled down.

Does anyone know how to find out the tick rate of a server ?

I keep my stuff locked at 0.01 interp, 101/101, 25000. If I want to deathmatch/pub and I get loss/choke cause of the bad server I just keep searching for a good one. Don't see the point in getting used to different config settings.

I just use 66 66 25000 on my 10Mb connection. Seems to be OK.

Wish CS/CSS could've come without all this config stuff. Makes me question hit reg and whether I should adjust sometimes.

stick net_graph 3 on, its the 2 numbers to the furthest right (the cmdrate is limited by your FPS so if you have 50 fps that will say 50, even if its a 100tick server and your cmdrate and updaterate are set to 100)

it also shows loss and choke, chokes nothing to worry about, but loss is bad.

theres a new limit to rates by the way all with the new update, think its 100000, 101, 101 now

1mb is the maximum and im pretty sure 100000 is what valve would call 1mb, though most servers still limit to 30000 i think

something is driving me crazy :D

I was playing on the server, was getting 80 ping which is excellent for me (;))

Then all of a sudden it started lagging like hell even though I was 80 ping and 300fps....

Then the ping shooooooooooooooooooooooooots up to 300-400.

Any ideas. I turned cl_smooth to 0 changed my rates etc...

:(
