CSS lagging on certain maps

Hi guys,

I'm having a problem where CSS is lagging out for about 10 seconds everytime i go through certain parts on cs_office. This is the only map it happens on, where the screen just freezes for about 10 seconds before it unfreezes and i can move again. It only happens in certain areas as well, mostly in the corridors around T spawn.

It then happens at the end/beginning of each round which is especially annoying as once i stop lagging, my team is already half way across the map.

I was thinking it may be a problem with the game files being corrupted but when i verify the integrity of the files in Steam it doesn't find any problems.

Anybody have any ideas before i just re-download the whole game?

A long shot but have you tried "defragment cache files" in game options, and defrag the whole drive? A bit obv I know.


Maybe go and delete the office map in Steam directory, it will re-download itself

maybe you need new pc some maps have more details ;)

edit: *slaps my self in the face just seen your specs* reinstall maybe il take like few min if you have cd?
 
Cheers for the replies guys. I redownloaded the whole game last night and tried again this morning. If i create my own server then there are no problems at all. However, as soon as i join an internet server it starts to lag out again :(

I'll have a look round steam support to see if i can find anything.
